Can someone translate this for me? All I've been able to figure out in the last two days is the last word, which i think means quiet or silent.

The verse is:
"This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel
after that time," declares the LORD.
"I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people."
But I am trying to narrow the verse down to just the second quote ("I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people") but because of my non-existent knowledge of Hebrew I cannot make heads or tales of the translations I've found in order to narrow the Hebrew down to just that part of the verse.
If anyone could give me a proper translation of just that portion of the verse I would be very appreciative.

Here follows a translation:
נתתי: I have given / allowed'
את- ët-; accusative indicator
תורתי To•râ•ti′: My Tor•âh′
בקרבם bә-qirb•âm′; in the inside of them, in their innards'
ועל- wә-al′; and upon;
לבם lib•âm; the heart of them, their heart
אכתבנה I will write her/it (i.e. the fem. noun, Tor•âh)
This is a translation of one of the two sentences you wanted help with.

As an advice: If you want to study the Jewish Scriptures you need to fully rely on the Hebrew text; not on translators. I recommend you to use: Etymological dictionary of Biblical Hebrew (author: Matityahu Clark).

Thank you Anders, that was very helpful. Although you brought up a good point. Instead of relying on any translation I decided to go back to the original Hebrew. However, I cannot make out, within the verse, where the portion I want is.
I've included the translation I found, and was wondering if anyone could point out where the phrases "I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts" and "and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." both begin.
Also, I was curious what the symbol ":" means in Hebrew, as I have seen it at both the end and beginning of verses.
כי זאת הברית אשר אכרת את בית ישראל אחרי הימים ההם נאם יהוה נתתי את תורתי בקרבם ועל לבם אכתבנה והייתי להם לאלהים והמה יהיו לי לעם׃

I am a new member and have enjoyed reading the articles, resources, and posts on the site!
I am a husband and father of four in Augusta, Georgia, USA. I have become extremely zealous and passionate about Yahushua and the Scriptures, especially over the last 12 years as our family has spent a lot of time in Yah's furnace of affliction to refine, try, and test us! Our family's suffering and afflictions have been the catalysts that Yahuah has used to humble and break our wills and our agendas! Now our only agenda is Yahuah's agenda! Once that occurred the door of discovery has opened beyond our wildest dreams!
I have studied YashaYahu (Isaiah) 53 as it relates to the life of Yahushua and would like to ! I would like to humbly offer some insights into what I consider the most solemn and set apart truths about Yahushua's sojourn on earth that I or anyone else will ever write or will ever speak of!
Here is the question about Yahushua’s ministry that we all should ask ourselves! Why, if one considers all the never before seen miracles that Yahushua performed by the thousands across the whole Land to multitudes of the poor and needy, why was it so hard for them to come to the obvious conclusion that Yahushua was indeed their long awaited Messiah! Why was it so hard, why, why, why? The answer to all these questions can be found in YashaYahu’s strange report #53! The answer was not so obvious to them way back then and still not so obvious to many today! Those people were faced with a huge dilemma way back then and they reacted to that dilemma the same way that many people will react today, when they read the information below! Some will receive it and follow it up with their own thorough investigation coupled with sincere prayer, but many will not be willing to even consider it or pull the strings!
In YashaYahu 53:4 and 53:8 the use of the transliterated Hebrew words, choliy, makob, nagua or naga, naka, anah, and nega have been glossed over and misunderstood for at least 1700 years! YashaYahu was instructed to write this immensely important and solemn report so that all Yahuah's children would recognize, understand, and embrace the "Real Yahushua"! Much of what YashaYahu was trying to convey about Yahushua has been misunderstood and continues to be rationalized away by scholars, preachers, Torah teachers, and the masses, who depend solely on their teachings alone. The truth about the words that YashaYahu wrote about our Messiah in YashaYahu 53 paints a most solemn and heart-breaking portrait, very heart-breaking and very qodesh indeed! The message that YashaYahu wrote makes my love for Yahushua go off-the-charts! I am not fully able to grasp or put into words the kind of love that Yahuah and Son, Yahushua have for the people they call Yisra'el!
YashaYahu said that Yahushua would be despised and rejected by men. Why would Yahushua be despised so much considering Yahushua healed tens of thousands directly or indirectly through His Talmidim? Yahushua raised the dead; healed the blind from birth, and healed those suffering TZARA'AT, the Living Death (known in error as Leprosy today)! Why was Yahushua so despised and loathed by so many? Why did YashaYahu say that people would hide their faces from our beloved MessiYah and regard Him as cursed? Why did YashaYahu say that Yahushua would experience our sicknesses, diseases (#2483), and our mental and physical pains (makob) by first hand experience? Remember that Yahuah refers to Yisrael (including us) without the covering of Yahushua in YashaYahu Chapter 1 as Sick, Plagued (naga) with putrefying, and decaying sores from head to toe! Ever since Adam and Hawwah touched (naga or nagua #5060) the fruit from the Mixed Tree, The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, mankind has been sick and dying from the Inside Out with Tzara'at, the Living Death, death mixed with life! If you want to know how to follow the historical Jesus you should study what Historical Scholars in leading universities says. The Creator of this universe is intelligent and facts and historical evidence in this universe cannot possibly contradict Him.
There is only one way to follow the historical Jesus. The name of the historical Jesus is Ribi Yehoshua.
A quote from the Scholar James H. Charlesworth – The historical Jesus:
“[Ribi Yehoshuas] devout Jewishness. [Ribi Yehoshua] was a very devout Jew. [p.48] (..) [Ribi Yehoshuas] devotion to Torah and Judaism is evident also in his actions. During his last week alive, [Ribi Yehoshua] was in Jerusalem. Why? Ha had ascended to the Holy City to celebrate Passover, as required by Torah. During this week, [Ribi Yehoshua] taught in the Temple and, quoting the revered prophet Isaiah, called the Temple “a house of prayer” (..) Thus, [Ribi Yehoshua] should not be imagined as the first Christian. He was a very devout Jew who observed Torah (the Law [Instruction is the correct translation] recorded in the Bible). The name of the historical J*esus is not le-havdil (to differentiate) Ribi Yehoshua.
The historical J*esus is an oxymoron. There was a historical Pharisaic first century leader named le-havdil (to differentiate) Ribi Yehoshua. This is not the same person as the Christian J*esus.

I know how to conjugate verbs in present, future & past tense. But I don't know how to do the other tenses. For example, how would you say:
I should have bought that book
or
I will have bought that book.

Here is the translation of the sentences. Since composed tenses do not exist in Hebrew, we usually use the three regular tenses: Past, Present and Future. (and in some cases we use other ways to express the composed tenses).
I should have bought that book.
הייתי צריך/ה לקנות את הספר ההוא.
I will have bought that book.
אקנה את הספר ההוא.

Hi, I'm after the translation of "above rubies" I've got a transliteration as "rachok mip'ninim", but I think that's more like "beyond perals". I want a direct translation (that makes sense still) of "above (more than/higher than/worth more than) rubies"

Hi, this might be a very strange post.
But, i assure you that we received a very mysterious mail. My friend and i received a express mail with bubble protection envelope. We were very curious about the content. And when we opened it we discover a ziploc bag containing a letter plus a scott's towels protecting a dirty panties. This envoys wasn't addresses to us.
We do not known hebrew language and we are seeking for a fast translation. Please help us to understand the letter. So we can investigate more...

You may have received a translation by now, but if not, I tried to translate this. I had a lot of trouble as there are a bunch of acronyms and some of this is in Aramaic... Maybe someone can fill in the word that I couldn't figure out.
