I live in Jerusalem, where I also teach Hebrew. During my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking and listening to music. In my studies, I have focused on Chinese religion and learnt several foreign languages. Languages fascinate me. I love the process of acquiring a new language and enjoy playing a role in the learning process of others. I find the Hebrew language – its diverse layers, its cultural richness and its history of miraculous revival in the modern era – particularly intriguing.
I became involved with teaching Hebrew during my BA studies, when I qualified as a Hebrew teacher at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. During my lessons I use poetry, popular songs, prose, and news items in order to expose the students to the different registers of the language.
I believe that as the world becomes more computerized, it is only natural that online learning comprises a growing part of education. This medium gives an opportunity to share a Hebrew moment with people all around the globe who share the love for this language. |
